Principal's Message

Dear Larson Families,

Welcome to the 2020/2021 School Year.  We have missed you and are so very excited to begin working with your family!

Rest assured, even though school looks a little bit different this year we are focused on creating the safest learning environment possible for your student.  Additionally, the academic and social-emotional growth and wellbeing of your child are our highest priority.  Whether you chose full time in person, blended, or fully remote, our Larson Heights teachers have been working diligently to create engaging lessons for our students and are excited to see your child on a daily basis.  Additionally, we have all been working to create systems to ensure that we are addressing the social-emotional needs of our students each and every day.  As we begin the school year, all adults, both in-person and remote, will be working to build relationships with our students and their families.

Due to the fast-moving nature of the COVID situation, we will be communicating with you on a variety of platforms.  We will use our Messenger and Remind Apps to send out voice messages and emails, so please make sure that your information is up to date with our office staff in Skyward.  Additionally, we will update our website with important news and information as well as post to the Larson Heights Facebook page.  In the event that there is a school or classroom closure due to COVID we will be communicating that to you as soon as possible.

I would also like to introduce a few new members of our staff.  Mr. Nelson Green will be serving as our new music teacher and he is super excited to get into classrooms and expose all of our students to the wonders of music in creative and fun ways.  Mrs. Samatha Reyling-Frohning is our new resource room teacher and she will be working with all of our students who qualify for Special Education services.  Mrs. Lori Boyd has come to us from Sage Point Elementary and will be our new EL teacher serving both our in-person and remote students.  Kyler Haneberg is serving as a remote 4th-grade teacher here at Larson as his first teaching assignment and he is super excited to get to know our Larson families.  Finally, we have a new face in the front office, Ms Partida is our new attendance secretary and will be the first person you see or talk to when you enter the building.

Thank you for trusting the Larson Staff with your child’s learning and we look forward to our continued partnership with our community and families.

Thank you,

Karen Schotzko
